KARNALA SPORTS ACADEMY

OBJECTIVES

1. Provide Olympic standard facilities for indoor and outdoor games.
2. Encourage Physical Education by training and coaching in various indoor and outdoor games.
3. Undertake social, literary and cultural activities, conduct programs, impart education and aid research in these fields.
4. Promote sports medicine, impart education and aid research.
5. Impart education and promote Adventure sports.
6. Promote Yoga, impart education and aid research in this field.
7. Develop 10 M, 25 M & 50 M ranges for Riffle & Pistol Shooting.
8. Promote Taekwondo, Kalaripayyat, Karate, Kung-fu, Judo, Boxing and other forms of martial arts, impart education and aid research in these fields.
9. Organise, co-ordinate, or associate with different sports tournaments and cultural activities.
10. To Train general public about Disaster & Rescue Management and to form Disaster Management teams to overcome calamities.
11. Create Environmental awareness in society and environment friendly atmosphere.
12. Impart unconventional training for gaining advance knowledge to the school children of Karnala Sports Academy managed schools to enable them to cope up challenges of competitive world.
13. Form Core Advisory Group comprising of experts from different fields to guide Academy to excel in every field/discipline.
14. To award scholarships to deserving sportsmen/ students
15. Conduct free training camps for Police & Military recruitment.
16. Organise/promote sports events, competitions and cultural activities independently or jointly with other associations/individuals.
17. Establish Sports Library and Sports Laboratory.
18. Design sports training program in consultation with the experts in the different games, Internet information, & Tutorial books/CDs.
19. Organise International tournaments for different Indian Games such as Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Mallakhamb etc.& try its inclusion in Olympics games.

SOME ACTIVITIES OF THE KSA

Panvel Kala, Krida & Sanskritik Mahotsav:
For giving platform to Panvelites to show their talents ‘Panvel Kala, Krida & Sanskritik Mahotsav’ is organised every year for last 8 years from 24th Dec to 31st Dec. Competitions are conducted for 40 games / sports and 40 cultural programs. During these eight days thousands competitors take part in competitions and gathering goes in lacs.

The Karnala Sports Academy conducts Effective English Speaking, Communication Skills, Personality Development, Computer, and other vocational courses at villages in Panvel to bring up standard of village youths to enable them to get jobs in Multi National Companies (MNCs) and corporate world. These classes are successfully running at Pirkon & Kelawane villages. Shortly new classes will be started at Shirdhon, Chirner, Uran and Karnala Sports Academy.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:

4. Vyakhyan mala - Every year reputed speakers from different spheres are invited to deliver lectures for benefits of Panvelites. This year Prof. Dr Yashwant Patne, Prof. Dr. Nandkumar Marathe and Mr Dwarkanath Sanzagiri are invited to deliver lectures on 28th 29th and 30th October 06 respectively.

STAR KARNALA TV CABLE CHANNEL, TELECASTING QUALITY FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES.
Educational Institutions:

1. Karnala Sports Academy’s Nivasi Krida Prabodhini, a boarding School is established to promote academic education and sports.
2. Academic School at Chavne Village.
3. S S Patil College of Agricultural Marketing & Business Management
4. Conducts free training camps for Police & Military recruitment
5. Achievement -33 boys & 9 girls are selected in Police Force in 2006
6. Health Camps and Blood Donation Camps.
7. Free Vocational Guidance.
8. Students from Panvel & Uran region with extra-ordinary achievements in schools and colleges are awarded scholarships till they complete the education.
9. Similarly poor students are also offered scholarship. Full educational expenses for these students are borne by Karnala Sports Academy.

Volunteers from KSA are prepared to take corrective steps in case of disasters. During floods on 26th July 2005 lives of hundreds of people were saved by the volunteers of KSA & thousands of people were given shelter & food at the premises of KSA and different schools. Due to this fact, responsibility of Rescue Management is given to KSA by the Panvel Disaster Management Organisation.
